Overview#

Cid (Client Identifier) Claim is described in OAuth 2.0 Token Exchange as the OAuth Client identifier of the OAuth 2.0 RFC 6749 client that requested the token.

The following example illustrates the "cid" claim within a JWT Claims Set indicating an OAuth 2.0 client with "s6BhdRkqt3" as its identifier.

{
  "aud":"https://consumer.example.com",
  "iss":"https://issuer.example.com",
  "exp":1443904177,
  "sub":"user@example.com",
  "cid":"s6BhdRkqt3"
}

OAuth 2.0 Token Introspection RFC 7662 defines the "client_id" parameter as the client identifier for the OAuth 2.0 client that requested the token.
