The Translation Processor is a part of the IDM engine that is responsible for converting information from the eDirectory domain (data format and schema structure/name) to the application domain, and vice versa.

  • The The Translation Processor is independent of the Publisher of Subscriber channel.
  • The Translation Processor part of the IDM Engine and is the first and last processor before the Connected Application's shim.

The IDM Engine assumes that anything issued from within a driver channel is in eDirectory format. For the application to understand what is being requested the event will need to be converted to the application format.

Conversely, any results from the application will need to be converted back to an eDirectory format before it can be processed.

Everything (like Queries, commands, events) that goes to or comes from the Connected Application passes through Translation Processor.
