Overview#

Trusted Service Manager acts as the middle-man; coordinating the technical and business relationships of multiple stakeholders, including MNOs and service providers such as Card Issuer, ticketing agencies and other issuing authorities.

Trusted Service Manager allow these stakeholders and service providers to communicate with each other and arrange the delivery and management of applications and services on consumers’ Mobile Devices.

The Trusted Service Manager approach, endorsed by the GSMA which represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide, has the significant advantage of rapid scalability as it helps service providers securely distribute and manage contactless services on behalf of their customers using the existing infrastructure of mobile operators.

Trusted Service Manager does not participate in the actual transactions as they are normally processed using existing systems the service provider and its Merchant partners have in place.
