* supporting data delivery to approved applications via industry-standard Web Service queries

* emergency recovery/restoration of post databases.

CCD serves as a gateway to the [Automated Biometric Identification System] ([IDENT]). IDENT is DHS' implementation of [Commercial Off The Shelf]
