!!! Overview
The term "directory manager" is a common name used to refer to a [root DN|Definition -- Root DN] user in some implementations of Directory Servers. It is so named because the default root user typically uses a bind [DN] of "cn=Directory Manager".
Unlike many other types of directory servers, OpenDS allows multiple root DNs to be defined, although the default root DN is still "cn=Directory Manager".
