A [{$pagename}] [URIs] are defined in [RFC 5785] as a [URI] ([RFC 3986]) used as a [Discovery Mechanism] whose path component begins with the characters "/.well-known/", and whose [URI Schemes] is "[HTTP]", "[HTTPS]", or another [URI Schemes] that has explicitly been specified to use [{$pagename}] [URIs].
Defining [{$pagename}] URIs ([RFC 5785]) defines a path prefix for "well-known locations", "/.well-known/", in selected [Uniform Resource Identifier] [URI Schemes].
[RFC 5785] also established a [IANA Registry] [Well-Known URIs]
