Overview#
Directory System Agent (DSA) is the Protocol Server which listens for LDAP Requests from a LDAP or X.500 Directory User Agent (DUA).A Directory System Agent that receives a request from a user Directory User Agent takes responsibility for the LDAP Request, passing it to other DSAs as necessary, but ensuring a single coordinated response for the user DUA.
A server holds at least a fragment of the Directory Information Base (DIB) which is arranged as determined in the Directory Information Tree (DIT)
