Overview#Emergency Location Service (ELS) is a supplemental service that sends enhanced location directly from Android Mobile Device to Public Safety Answering Point when an emergency call is placed.
Emergency Location Service is part of Google Play Service and does require any special hardware, downloads or updates.
Emergency Location Service is ONLY activated when the user contacts Public Safety Answering Point.
