Overview#
Google Persistent Disk is a GCP Storage Products available for your fleet of Google Compute Engine Virtual Machines.While instances Google Compute Engine boot from Google Persistent Disk, their content lives independently of Virtual Machines creation and destruction.
Google Compute Engine instances can mount multiple disks.
- You can mount a Google Persistent Disk on multiple Google Compute Engine instances, as readOnly,
- Mount as readWrite if mounted only on one Google Compute Engine Virtual Machine
- restore to any Google Compute Engine region in the world.
You can do any of these from Google Cloud Platform Console web interface, gcloud command-line tool, or a RESTful web API.
