Overview#
Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act of 2009 is a United States Federal Law and a Federal Health Care Law and provides United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) with the authority to establish programs to improve Health Care quality, safety, and efficiency through the promotion of health IT, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) and private and secure electronic Health Information ExchangeHealth Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health set Meaningful Use of interoperable Electronic Health Records (EHR) adoption in the Health Care system as a critical national goal and incentivized EHR adoption
