LONIC (Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes) is a database and universal standard for identifying medical laboratory observations.

LONIC was created in response to the demand for an electronic database for clinical care and management as used in Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and is publicly available Royalty-free.

LONIC database provides a set of universal names and ID codes for identifying laboratory and Clinical Data test results in the context of existing HL7, IHE and CEN TC 251 observation report messages.

LONIC matches Unique Identifier codes to a common Taxonomy
