Overview#
Password Reset is a Password Modify Operation when the password is being set by someone other than the owner of the password. There are other types of Password Modify Operations:
- Password Recovery - When a Password Reset is performed via a proxy application or service.
- Password Change - As when a user changes the password them selves.
Often, when a Password Reset is performed, a Password MUST Change Account Restriction is implemented which requires user has to perform a Password Change again after the Password Reset.
A Password Reset could be performed when the LDAP Server Implementation supports the Password Modify Extended Operation.
