Paxos Protocol

Paxos Protocol is a family of protocols for solving Distributed Consensus in a possibly unreliable network of unreliable nodes.

Paxos Protocol guarantees consistency and the conditions that could prevent it from making progress are difficult to provoke.

Paxos Protocol was popularized by Google's Chubby Lock Service, and is the core behind the open-source Keyspace data store.
