Platform Authenticator

Overview#

Platform Authenticator is a Web Authentication API Authenticator which is usually resident (i.e. Built-in) on a Client Device and cannot be accessed via cross-platform Transport Layer protocols such as USB, NFC or BLE.

Examples of Platform Authenticators include built-in laptop or Mobile Device fingerprint readers or Facial recognition using Mobile Device cameras.
