Overview#Public Wi-Fi (open Wi-Fi) is a Wi-Fi network that is a Untrusted network. MUST NOT connect to open Wi-Fi unless you are using a VPN (Virtual Private Network). It’s too easy for Attackers to trick you and gain access to your device. Just never do it if you want to stay secure.
The biggest threats with Public Wi-Fi is the ability for Attackers to position themselves between you and the Access Point as a Man-In-The-Middle. Then instead of talking directly with the Access Point, the data is sent to the Attacker.
