Overview#

ATC or Application Transaction Counter is maintained by the Chip Card application (incremented by the chip), that provides a sequential reference to each transaction.

Unusual values may indicate data copying or other fraud to the Card Issuer:

• a duplicate ATC
• a decrease in ATC
• a large jump in ATC
