Overview#

BasicConstraints (OID 2.5.29.10) Certificate Extension for X.509 v3 certificates identifies whether the subject of the certificate is a CA and the maximum depth of valid certification paths that include this certificate.

BasicConstraints are defined in RFC 5280 as:
