Overview#

A Custom Menu Driven Script used for a couple of Clients.

The edir.dev/Directory-Info.com/nds-menu.sh file is the Menu Front-End to the LDAP Build Scripts.

All production servers should be on the same versions of eDirectory.

Create a new Server#

Creating a new server, wether it is to go into an existing tree or go into a "new" tree, the same process is done.

• Main Build Script Menu
• 1 - Binary installation and maintenance
• 2 - Install eDirectory Base binaries (8.7.3)
• Main Build Script Menu
• 3 - Insert/Remove server from eDirectory tree

Select either:

• 2 - Install server in NEW Tree
  

or

• 3 - Install server in Existing Tree
  

Follow the prompts and make sure the server is in the tree correctly and you can connect to the server via NDS and LDAP over SSL. If a problem exists, fix the problem before continuing.

• 1 - Binary installation and maintenance
• 3 - Apply Current Production Release (8.7.3.4)

If it is a "new" tree, perform the following:

• 4 - Apply NMAS 2.3.5 Methods (Once Per Tree)

Follow the prompts and make sure the server is in the tree correctly and you can connect to the server via NDS and LDAP over SSL. If a problem exists, fix the problem before continuing.
