Overview#

Context Based Access Control (CBAC) is a an access Control that grants or denies the Permission based on Contextual Attributes that the subject is attempting to gain access to the target resource or SP.

Context Based Access Control closely related to:

• Risk Based Access Control
• Adaptive Risk
• Risked-Based Authentication

Context Based Access Control is often used in network devices and computer based firewalls which have access to the Network layer within a communication system.

The Relying Party would typically use the information obtained from one or more Identity Provider (IDP) to determine the if access is granted or denied.
