Overview#

Credential Management API is part of the Web Authentication API (WebAuthN) and lets a website store and retrieve user (Think Password-based), Federated Identity, and Public Key Credentials.

Credential Management API capabilities allow users to Authentication Request without typing passwords, see the Federated Identity they used to sign in to a site, and resume a session without the explicit sign-in flow of an expired session.

Credential Management API exposes Interfaces for:

• credential
• Credentials Container (a Digital Wallet)
• Federated Credential
• Password Credential (a Username and password)
