Overview#

Cryptographic Algorithm A well-defined computational procedure that takes variable inputs, including a Cryptographic Key, and produces an output.

Cryptographic Algorithm is an Algorithm and referred to as a Cipher which is typically connected to a Cipher Suite

Classification of Cryptographic Algorithms#

There are three basic Classification of Cryptographic Algorithm:

• Hash Functions
• Symmetric Key algorithms
• Asymmetric Key algorithms.

The Classification are defined by the number of Cryptographic Keys that are used in conjunction with the algorithm.
