Overview#

Delete Request is when a request to delete data from a Data Store

LDAP Delete Request#

DelRequest is a LDAP Message and request the removal of an LDAP Entry from the Directory.

The Delete Request is defined as follows: 

DelRequest ::= [APPLICATION 10] LDAPDN
Delete Request consists of the name of the entry to be deleted.

The server SHALL NOT dereference aliases while resolving the name of the target LDAP Entry to be removed.

Only leaf LDAP Entry (those with no subordinate entries) can be deleted with this operation.

Upon receipt of a Delete Request, a server will attempt to perform the entry removal requested and return the result in the Delete Response
