Overview#

Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) specification published by Intel Corporation which was contributed to the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) specification.

Some of Extensible Firmware Interface's practices and data formats mirrored those from Microsoft Windows. In 2005, Unified Extensible Firmware Interface deprecated EFI.
