Overview#

Home automation is the residential extension of Building Automation.

Home Automation is the creation of the Smart Home and involves automation of the the home, housework or household activity.

Home Automation may include centralized control of lighting, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), appliances, Physical Access Control of gates and doors and other systems, to provide improved convenience, comfort, energy efficiency and security.

Home Automation is a subset of the Building Automation which is a subset of Internet of Things (IoT).
