Overview#

ISO 18092 is a new ISO standard for Contactless Chip Cards and Contactless Payment data.

ISO 18092 standard allows bidirectional communication between the data source and the POS Terminal.

Although this can be used on cards, the primary advantage is expected to be for Mobile Payment that are sending Contactless Chip Card data. This allows for non-payment type messages, such as coupons, loyalty offers, to be delivered to the consumer’s phone.
