Identity Federation is a Community of Credential Service Providers (CSPs) and Relying Parties which have agreed to participate in Federated Identity Management.

Identity Federation's "rules" or Policies for Federated Identity Management are known as the Identity Trust Framework and the organizations. that agree to follow such rules and participate are known as an Identity Federation.
