Overview#
Identity Management Architecture (IMA) is a clear collection of standards, policies, certifications, and Identity and Access Management activities.The Identity Management Architecture provides the context to create a Digital Identity infrastructure that meets the goals and objectives of the Organizational Entity and is capable of allowing refinement as the organization's goals and objectives change.
Identity Management Architecture can only exist within a context of an Organizational Entity. The Identity Management Architecture should be:
- A primary component to enforce the policies
- Able to fit within the interoperability Framework of the organization.
- Compliant with the Process Architecture of the organization.
- Compliant with the Data Architecture of the organization.
- Compliant with the Technical Reference Architecture of the organization.
Then a lot of organizations will not have their Identity Management Architecture this well defined.
