Key Encrypting Key (
KEK or
Key-wrapping key) is a
Symmetric Cryptographic Key that is used for the
encryption or
decryption of other keys to provide both
confidentiality and
integrity protection.
Key Encrypting Key is often established through a Key agreement transaction and used with a key-wrapping algorithm to protect the Keying material In Transit.
