Overview#

The LDAP assertion control is a type of supportedControl that may be used to perform an operation only if the target entry matches a given assertion filter. It may be used in conjunction with Compare Request, Delete Request, Modify Request, ModifyDNRequest, and searchRequest operations.

The LDAP assertion control is described in RFC 4528 and has an OID of 1.3.6.1.1.12. The value of the control should be encoded as an LDAP SearchFilter.
