Overview#

Indicates that during a Bind Request, the client (DUA) is attempting to use an authentication method that the client cannot use correctly.

For example, either of the following may cause this error:

• The Bind Request requested Simple Authentication when strong credentials are required.
• The Bind Request requested a DN and a password for a simple bind when the entry does not have a password defined.

Some of the LDAP Result Codes returned may differ depending upon the LDAP Server Implementation the LDAP Request was presented.
