Overview#

Message Passing Interface (MPI) is a communication protocol for Concurrency where modules interact by sending messages to each other through a communication channel.

Both Point-to-Point Protocol and collective communication are supported.

Message Passing Interface "is a message-passing Application Programming Interface, together with protocol and semantic specifications for how its features must behave in any implementation."

Message Passing Interface's goals are high performance, scalability, and portability.

Message Passing Interface includes methods of Inter-Process Communication and Application Programming Interface (APIs) for Message queues

Message Passing Interface Language Bindings#

Message Passing Interface Language Bindings are libraries that extend MPI support to other languages by wrapping an existing MPI implementation such as MPICH or Open MPI.
