Overview#

Mobile TAN (mTAN) is when a Transaction Authentication Number is generated by the Financial Institution and sent to the user's Mobile Device by Short Message Service.

The SMS message may also include transaction data, allowing the user to verify that the transaction has not been modified in transmission to the Financial Institution.
