Overview #

Ensure that your Edirectory Disaster Recovery processes include NICI Configuration Files files. Otherwise, you will not be able to restore the encryption keys, and you won't be able to read encrypted data. For details on NICI backup and Restore see the NICI Administration Guide (May not be the latest link to the latest versions).

A backup (or restore) of the NICI Configuration Files, along with its sub-directories and files in the NICI File Locations, is sufficient for backing up NICI configuration on all platforms.
