Overview#

Novell Directory Services (NDS) are references to typically Older versions of EDirectory which were based on the RECMAN database and the newer versions called EDirectory are based on FLAIM (same underlying database that GW used).

Novell Directory Services use the NDS Protocol and LDAP for client communication.

NDS version numbers look like 6.xx, 7.xx or 8.xx, whereas eDirectory numbers are like 10552.30 and so on.
