LDAPWiki: OMSyntax

Overview#

OMSyntax is used as part of specifying the syntax of an attribute. See MS-ADTS section 3.1.1.2.2.2, LDAP Representation, for information on how this object is used by the Active Directory service.

Microsoft Active Directory uses three AttributeTypes that identify the syntax of the AttributeType:

OMSyntax is a REQUIRED INTEGER value for an AttributeType within Microsoft Active Directory which he XDS/XOM syntax.

Version-Specific Behavior: First implemented on Windows 2000 Server operating system.

The schemaFlagsEx attribute was added to this attribute definition in Windows Server 2008 operating system.
