OpenPOWER Foundation (OPF) includes key tools and resources to build upon the POWER architecture

OpenPOWER Foundation joined the Linux Foundation on August 20, 2019

OpenPOWER Foundation is a collaboration around Power ISA-based products initiated by IBM and announced as the "OpenPOWER Consortium" on August 6, 2013. IBM is has released the Intellectual Property Rights and technology surrounding their Power Architecture offerings, such as processor specifications, firmware and software with a liberal license, and will be using a collaborative development model with their partners.

OpenPOWER Foundation founding members include:

• Google
• Tyan
• Nvidia
• Mellanox Technologies

And as of 2016 contained more than 250 members.
