Overview#

TBSCertificate (TBS implies To-Be-Signed) is a Basic Certificate Field that is a sequence which contains information associated with the subject of the certificate and the CA that issued it. TBSCertificate contains the data that are used for the Certificate Signature (Digital Signature) calculation, which is encoded using the ASN.1 Distinguished Encoding Rules (DER) X.690.
