Overview#
Waterfall model is a
Design process that emphasizes that a logical progression of steps be taken throughout the
Software Development Life Cycle (
SDLC), much like the cascading steps down an incremental waterfall.
First introduced by Dr. Winston W. Royce in a paper published in 1970
Waterfall model originated in the manufacturing and construction industries; where the highly structured physical environments meant that design changes became prohibitively expensive much sooner in the development process.
