Overview#

A Well-known URIs are defined in RFC 5785 as a URI (RFC 3986) used as a Discovery Mechanism whose path component begins with the characters "/.well-known/", and whose URI Schemes is "HTTP", "HTTPS", or another URI Schemes that has explicitly been specified to use Well-known URIs.

Defining Well-known URIs (RFC 5785) defines a path prefix for "well-known locations", "/.well-known/", in selected Uniform Resource Identifier URI Schemes.

RFC 5785 also established a IANA Registry Well-Known URIs
