Overview#

Data Country Codes (DCC) are the ITU-T Country Codes which is the same as the ISO 3166-1 numeric.

According to Rec. ITU-T X.660 | ISO/IEC 9834-1, clause A.2.5, subsequent arcs have the values of Data Country Codes (DCC) as defined in Rec. ITU-T X.121. Arcs below this are determined as necessary by the Administration of the country identified by the DCC.

Each country should be assigned at least one 3-digit DCC. The DCC in conjunction with the fourth digit (of the OID) can identify up to 10 public data networks.

Example: 2.16.840 (joint-iso-itu-t.country.us) where 840 is the Data Country Codes for the US.

Data Country Codes are followed by Network Digits to create Data Network Identification Codes (DNIC). DNICs are registered under {ITU-T(0) network-operator(3)}.
