Overview#
Consent is defined as "no objections".Consent means that one has an opportunity to present a "reasoned no". Consent does not require a yes, an affirmation, nor does it imply unanimity or full agreement.
Consent may vary based on context and/or legal jurisdiction
We may use Consent and Authorization interchangeably.
Different Types of Consent#
verb (used without object) [3]#
- to permit, approve, or agree; comply or yield (often followed by to or an infinitive):
- He consented to the proposal. We asked her permission, and she consented.
- Which is the same as, "He authorized the proposal. We asked her permission, and she granted Authorization".
- Archaic. to agree in sentiment, opinion, etc.; be in harmony.

Frankly, I can not determine a difference (Consent vs Authorization) in Consent and Authorized, Authorise or Authorization other than the noun vs verb thing.
There maybe some narrow legal definitions (think HIPAA) that delineate differences between consent and authorization but in general, they are the same.
